UPM Raflatac supports a circular packaging economy

UPM Raflatac has announced the launch of New Wave paper label material compatible with recycling and certified to obtain a Letter of Compatibility from RecyClass for use on rigid high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) containers, enhancing packaging recyclability and sustainability. 

The New Wave label material is designed to enhance the entire lifecycle of products, mainly in home and personal care sectors. The label washes off cleanly without fiber loss in 40°C plain water with no other products required. This guarantees that the resulting recyclate can be reused in new packaging without quality compromise. 

With the introduction of the New Wave paper label, UPM Raflatac is providing a solution that meets strict recycling standards, enabling brands to obtain certification for their packaging more easily. This is a significant step forward in enhancing the circularity of packaging.
