Investing in the Next Generation Through Ardagh for Education
Fostering long-term innovation and sustainability in the packaging industry starts with empowering young minds. Ardagh Group recognises this through Ardagh for Education, a broad initiative aimed at building early awareness and developing future skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Spanning primary schools to university partnerships, Ardagh for Education offers tailored programmes that reflect the company's belief in inclusive and impactful learning. In schools, Ardagh supports hands-on STEM activities and learning resources, often led by employee volunteers who share real-world insights from the manufacturing and engineering sectors. These interactions spark curiosity and bring career possibilities to life for students of all backgrounds.
At the secondary and tertiary levels, Ardagh partners with educational institutions to offer scholarships, work placements, and mentoring opportunities. University students can engage in research collaborations or gain practical experience through internships and apprenticeships at Ardagh’s global facilities.
Since 2021, Ardagh has partnered with over 750 schools across 45 of its communities, reaching more than 280,000 students through the programme. Additionally, more than 1,000 Ardagh employees have volunteered with local schools, and the company has sourced over 150 new interns, apprentices, and entry-level hires through the programme.
By connecting classroom learning with industry practice, Ardagh for Education bridges the gap between education and employment, while supporting community development. The initiative underlines Ardagh’s long-standing commitment to investing in education, not only as a corporate responsibility but as a strategic imperative for shaping the industry’s future.
