Packaging value chain calls on the European Commission to dedicate appropriate time and resources to review of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive

The review of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (PPWD) represents a key opportunity to accelerate and further scale up the circularity of the EU economy.

Today, EUROPEN, together with 59 other industry associations representing the packaging value chain, sent a letter to Executive Vice-President Timmermans and Commissioner Sinkevičius calling for a robust review process of the PPWD to ensure that the ambitious policy goals of the Circular Economy Action Plan are supported by a future-proof regulatory framework driving investment in innovation and ensuring stronger enforcement and harmonisation across the EU.
