November was an eventful month in Brussels, marked by the hearings of the Commissioner-designates. Over the course of two weeks, Members of the European Parliament interviewed the 26 future Executive Vice-Presidents and Commissioners to assess their suitability for office. Not without difficulty and political upheaval, all nominees received a green light, and the new European Commission officially took office on 1st December.
