Transforming EPR: The Future of Circular Packaging in Europe

EUROPEN’s Transforming EPR workshop has hosted 150 onsite participants and 40 online participants!

With almost 20 speakers from European institutions, NGOs, PROs, and industry representatives, we dived into how to transform EPR in light of the upcoming Circular Economy Act.

The first part of the workshop focused on discussing packaging EPR principles and assessing the diversity of EPR schemes across Europe — exploring how we can make them work more effectively.

In the second part of the workshop, we explored the role of the Single Market in boosting packaging circularity, enabling effective waste management through data governance, and took stock of State-run EPR models and current developments in Poland.
