Innovation Story
A label free, 100% recyclable, 100% recycled* bottle for a sustainable future
Danone has been committed to rethinking the packaging of their water bottles through their #WeActForWater Sustainability program which aims to deliver healthy hydration options, good for people, planet, and health. For example, in evian’s journey to becoming a ‘circular’ brand by 2025- making all its plastic bottles from 100% recycled plastic, the brand has revealed in July 2020 a label-free bottle with an engraved logo.
The bottle, which has been almost two years in the making, is a key milestone and a first of its kind for the brand. It has been specifically designed to minimize its environmental impact, created from 100% recycled plastic (*except cap) and without the need for any label to maximise its recyclability
The new design has been made available as a 400ml bottle and features an ‘evian pink’ bottle cap. It has been distributed across select hotels, restaurants, and hospitality in France from early July 2020, and in additional countries in 2021.
This innovative engraved bottle could provide a solution globally for a sustainable future, especially for e-commerce where there is no need for barcode labelling.
