Developing Green Skills Through the Nestlé Packaging College
As part of its long-standing commitment to youth development, Nestlé continues to invest in skills for the future through targeted programmes that address both employability and sustainability challenges. One such initiative is the Nestlé Packaging College Europe, a dedicated training programme for young packaging professionals across Nestlé’s European markets.
Launched under the broader “Nestlé Needs YOUth” initiative—now in its 11th year—the Packaging College brings together participants with engineering, scientific, or sustainability backgrounds to gain hands-on insight into the full packaging lifecycle. From concept design to end-of-life recycling, the programme covers real-world applications, legal frameworks, and creative problem-solving around packaging innovation.
Through seminars led by experienced Nestlé operations staff, site visits to production lines, and trips to recycling and sorting centres, participants strengthen their green and digital skill sets. The programme also fosters cross-market collaboration and offers a pan-European perspective on sustainability practices within the packaging sector.
In line with the EU Pact for Skills and the European Alliance for Apprenticeships, the Nestlé Packaging College exemplifies how industry-led initiatives can support a future-ready workforce.
