We are Hiring an EU Public Affairs Manager

Job Description

EUROPEN is looking for a capable and enthusiastic new team member to join our Brussels’ office. If you are passionate about EU policy making, innovation and sustainability, this is an exciting role, working with multiple stakeholders to support the transition towards sustainable packaging in Europe.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for engagement with EU institutions and external stakeholders as well as for internal and external communication tasks.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EUROPEN advocacy and communication strategies
  • Building relationship with EU stakeholders, across the EU institutions, industry and non-governmental organisations
  • Represent EUROPEN at external events
  • Provide timely support to EUROPEN members, organize and attend members meetings, coordinate follow-up actions
  • Monitor and analyse relevant EU legislation and policy developments on packaging and sustainability
  • Draft position papers, reports, newsletters and other communication materials for external and internal use
  • Manage content on EUROPEN website and social media channels

Your profile

  • Proactive attitude, strategic thinking, strong analytical skills
  • Proven project management and issue management skills in a dynamic public affairs environment
  • Minimum 5 years EU public affairs experience (corporate, trade association/NGO or EU institutions)
  • Strong understanding of the EU decision making process, EU policies and legislation, with focus on EU environment, waste and climate policies
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both in writing and orally.
